Longmont Renewable Energy Committee
Our Renewable Energy Committee meets monthly. Contact us to RSVP or find out more!
CURRENT ACTIONS
The Renewable Energy committee continues to advocate for Platte River Power Authority, Longmont's power provider, to move to 100% renewable energy by 2030.
This committee also works to Electrify Longmont by organizing the annual National Drive Electric Week Longmont Electric Vehicle fair and offering workshops that help Longmont residents understand building electrification. Check out our database of electrification incentives if you are thinking of replacing your furnace, water heater, or gas stove.
Our History
In 2017 the Renewable Energy Committee formed with the goal of a city resolution to achieve 100% Renewable Energy. After achieving that resolution in early 2018, the group joined others in the PRPA service area and gained a similar commitment from the PRPA Board of Directors.
To encourage a shift away from fossil fuels, the committee began hosting National Drive Electric Week-Longmont in 2018 and launched the Electrify Longmont campaign in 2022.
